Sometimes children don’t want to listen or follow instructions. Try these tips to see if it makes a difference: say your child’s name and ask that he look at you. Give simple, clear requests, use few words. Be realistic by giving instructions that you know your child is physically and developmentally able to do.

Knowledge, education and support are what every parent needs. Unfortunately, parenting today is not the same as it was in my father’s day. The Family Tree really showed me that it’s an honor to be a parent, and a blessing, too.

Fallen Branches - a project to benefit The Family Tree

The Family Tree thanks the Audrey Herman Spotlighter's Theatre for this moving compilation of survival stories and true experiences!

On April 1-3, 2010, the Audrey Herman Spotlighter’s Theatre once again offered “Fallen Branches: a project to benefit The Family Tree." These performances depicted real child abuse and neglect survival stories that are brought to life by talented stage performers. An often moving, often provocative evening, the writing and acting truly touched the soul. Proceeds of the shows will support The Family Tree’s child abuse prevention programs that allow us to stop abuse before it occurs.
