A Hands-On Approach to Strengthening Kids & Families! Volunteers are critical to the success of The Family Tree. Thanks to the help of more than 350 volunteers every year, we are able to empower over 15,000 people every year to be better parents, guardians and caretakers while reversing the tide of child abuse and neglect.
Family Tree volunteers represent all kinds of people, from receptionists, social workers and teachers, to housewives and retirees. And they come to volunteer for many reasons. Some “just want to give back.” Others have been touched by abuse or neglect and want to help, while others work with children professionally and understand the need for prevention.
All of our volunteers receive free training, a quarterly newsletter, and the satisfaction of knowing they have helped empower and educate parents, keep kids safe and strengthen Maryland's communities.
