Community Education
The Family Tree promotes a multi-faceted range of activities for effective prevention. Education and training are integral components of building strong communities and supporting families with children. Informing providers, community groups and concerned citizens, ensures that skills and knowledge is transmitted throughout Maryland.
Professional Education & Training
The Family Tree addresses the child abuse prevention education needs of communities throughout Maryland by providing training, consultation, and technical assistance to social service agencies, child care providers, business leaders, faith communities, clinical professionals, school systems, and other community organizations. Topics include: What is Child Abuse? What is Prevention? How do we promote safe communities for our children? Volunteer Education and Training
Family Tree Volunteers represent all kinds of people, from receptionists, social workers and teachers, to homemakers and retirees. Volunteers come for many reasons. Some “just want to give back”. Others have been touched by abuse or neglect and want to join our cause, while others work with children professionally and understand the need for prevention.
All of our volunteers receive free training, a quarterly newsletter, and the satisfaction of knowing they have made a difference in the lives of our most fragile children and families.
Take a look at the different ways in which you can volunteer.
