Siblings quarrel; that’s just nature. You can promote a more peaceful household by establishing ‘house’ rules before a problem occurs. When siblings clash, remind them of your agreed ground rules. Sometimes, simply separating children resolves the problem. Whenever possible, try to have a ‘win-win’ so neither child feels defeated.

Child & Youth Programs

The Family Tree strives to work with the entire family to ensure optimal results. Group based children’s programs function in parallel to parenting training programs and support groups. Afterschool efforts are coordinated in communities where we can work with the students after school and at the same time reach out to their parents and community.

Children’s Nurturing Program

This is a free curriculum based program that functions in parallel to Family Education programs. Classes are designed to support each child’s social and emotional development and children are taught new skills that can be used in their everyday life.

Youth Afterschool Program

The Family Tree operates an afterschool program at the Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship (IBE) at Walbrook High School in West Baltimore. Students improve academic skills while at the same time are introduced to a wide range of media and visual art activities designed to promote self-esteem and competency.
