It's Report Card Time
Did you know that reported cases of child abuse increase immediately after report cards are released? This is a time of increased stress for both the parent and the child.

The Family Tree launched a multi-stage program to reverse the trend in Maryland schools. This program will initially reach 32 schools located in Baltimore City, Baltimore, Charles, Caroline, Harford, and Prince George’s counties.
Principals, teachers, and guidance counselors will receive information on how to recognize child abuse, “Positive Parenting Tips” to be distributed to parents, and our free Family Stressline, a crisis line available to parents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The tips will be sent home to every family with November’s report cards. See attached for report card distribution dates. The Family Tree will also distribute public service announcements to radio and television stations carrying a message of support for families. This information will be distributed to area educational centers as well as Baltimore’s 22 libraries.
