Pinwheels for Prevention

Take a Stand. Learn How.

The Family Tree provides families with the power of hope and the power to change. By breaking the cycle of child abuse, we create changes throughout Maryland that will have a positive impact for generations to come. Our most basic obligation is to support the healthy development of our state's children.

One way we do this is through the national Pinwheels for Prevention campaign every Spring. As the Maryland chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America, we encourage the community to learn more about child abuse prevention, support child and family-friendly policies and services, and volunteer. The pinwheel is a national symbol for the great childhoods all children deserve.

How You Can Get Involved

Make a pinwheel garden in your front yard, your child's school, your office, your church, your neighborhood park - or anywhere else you can think of! The pinwheel is a national symbol for the great childhoods all children deserve.
You can create your own pinwheel in a fun arts and crafts project with the kids!
You can also purchase pinwheels from The Family Tree for $1 each. Click here and fill out our online giving form. Please note the number of pinwheels you would like in the Donation Details section.
