Child Nurturer

Child nurturers administer a character building curriculum to children of parents attending our Parents Anonymous® groups and parent education classes. Child nurturer volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and receive 14 hours of training.

Parenting HelpLine

HelpLine volunteers answer calls from parents and caregivers to our 24 hour crisis and referral hotline. Stressline volunteers must be at least 21 years of age, non-judgmental and able to remain calm in a crisis. Volunteers receive 16 hours of training and are expected to complete call log sheets and commit to 4-6 hours per week.

Parent Educator

Parent educators help facilitate classes in our 12-week parent education program. Classes are held in Baltimore, Harford, Howard and Prince George’s counties and Baltimore City. Volunteers must be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED and be able to commit 2-4 hours per week.

Parent Support Group Facilitator

Parent support group facilitators assist in our Parents Anonymous® program. Support groups are community based, confidential and are offered throughout the state. Facilitators must be 21 years of age, non-judgmental and able to commit 2-4 hours per week. These volunteers receive 14 hours of training.

Resource Speaker

Resource speakers help create public awareness and education about child abuse and neglect as well as The Family Tree’s programs. Volunteers represent the organization at community fairs, and/or speak on behalf of the United Way, and distribute materials and resources to the public.

Fundraiser/Special Event Volunteer

Various opportunities exist for volunteers to assist with The Family Tree’s special events and marketing efforts. Interested volunteers will be contacted with specific information.
