Every child deserves a nurturing father. The MENS (Men Encouraging, Nurturing and Supported) Group is a free program helping men become responsible and devoted fathers. MENS offers a variety of tools for supporting positive parenting and healthy development. You will also have access to support groups, parent training, recreation and mentoring activities.

Strengthening Families Program (SFP)

14 Week Program For Parents with Kids Ages 6-16

Connection is as essential to parents as it is to our children. That's why The Family Tree offers the Strengthening Families Program (SFP), an evidence-based family skills training program. SFP is found to significantly improve parenting skills and family relationships, reduce problem behaviors in children, and improve social and academic skills. Each session includes:

  • 1/2 Hour Family Meal
  • Breakout Sessions for Parents and Kids: Parent Skills Training Group focuses on parenting skills and self-regulation; Child Skills Training Group focuses on communication, peer resistance, self-regulation, and more; age-appropriate sessions for children ages 6-11 and 12-16
  • Family Skills Training Group: Parents and children practice their new skills together in fun activities such as role-playing, games, and projects

SFP is currently offered in Baltimore City at Glenmount ES/MS on Mondays from 5:30 – 7:30pm and at the Empowerment Academy on Thursdays from 5:30 – 7:30pm.
